Eagles Win NFC East, Chatterbox Ocean City For Sale, Lawyers in Penn State Watching Lynn Decision

The Eagles won the NFC East last night with a hard fought victory over the Dallas Cowboys. After last year's 4-12 last place finish, most Eagles fans, including this one, hoped for 6 maybe 8 wins under new coach Chip Kelly. But these Eagles have surprised everyone, except maybe themselves. The Birds are a 2 point favorite Saturday night playoff game at home against the Saints. And once you make the playoffs, anything is possible.

A landmark in Ocean City at the Jersey Shore is up for sale. The Chatterbox at Ninth Street and Central Avenue and their slogan, “where the town meets” is for sale by owner, Marie Repici. Repici, now 82, and her husband bought the Chatterbox 42 years ago. Her son also became a partner but both husband and son have now passed and Repici says it’s become too much of a strain for her. If she doesn’t get an acceptable offer quickly, the Chatterbox will go on the auction block in February.

Reversing the conviction of Philadelphia Msgr. William J. Lynn may have implications in the upcoming trial of Penn State administrators in the Jerry Sandusky case. quotes lawyers in that case who say the child endangerment law from 2007 should not be applied retroactively to their clients either, for behavior and decisions they made in 2001.

The Flyers are in Vancouver tonight. The Eagles have the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs Saturday night at the Linc.

Cloudy today. 44 in Center City.
