First 2014 Snow, Seth Williams Criticized for Lynn Reaction, Philadelphia Dumps 13 Double Dippers

The first winter storm of 2014 dumped up to 8 inches of snow on parts of the Philadelphia area. Schools are closed, driving is treacherous and the cleanup is difficult because it is cold. Temperatures will stay in the teens and the winds will blow up to 45 miles per hour. Wind chill factors around zero. If you go out to shovel or any other reason, cover exposed skin.

Philadelphia District Attorney, Seth Williams is being criticized for what is being called “unprofessional” behavior after a Superior Court overturned the conviction of Msgr. William Lynn. Church lawyer, Thomas Bergstrom reported he will send letters to the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court. Williams criticized the Supreme Court Decision and the Archdiocese for putting up Lynn’s bail.

Philadelphia Parks and Recreation is 13 workers lighter today after accepting the resignations or firing part timers under investigation for double dipping. The 13 already have full time jobs in the city – schoolteachers, post office employees and the Attorney General’s office. They also held part time city jobs as rec center leaders, which is a violation of rules that keep people who already have a government job from looking for a second pension.

Sports
City Six, Drexel visits Southern Miss tonight.

Weather
Windy and bitter cold today. 18 in Center City.
