Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who threw hot coffee on a Dunkin' Donuts employee. The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm on the 4700 block of North Broad Street. A customer became upset when a female Dunkin' employee would not accept an expired coupon he had on his iPhone. The suspect argued with the employee and tossed his hot cup of coffee her before leaving. The worker was not seriously injured. Police are investigating the matter. If you have any information about this incident you an encouraged to contact Philadelphia Police.

Philadelphia School Superintendent William Hite announced today that he does not plan to close any schools at the end of this year. The schools district had closed 32 schools over the past two years mainly for financial reasons. Hite said his decision this year to spare closures was driven by academics and not finances. Many students who had to to move last year were displaced to poorer performing schools. The district's focus now is to improve the schools that remain open.

Police say that two thieves dressed as water department workers and stole items from a South Philadelphia home this afternoon. It happened at around 3:00 on Friday on the 2500 block of South 20th Street. One of the suspects distracted the occupant while the other was inside stealing money and jewelery. They are only described as a white male and a hispanic male. If you have any information contact Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS (8477), text a tip to PPD TIP (773847) or through PhillyPolice.com.

Tonight,
