Police Abuse Claimed, Christie Notified of Bridge Problem in September, Neumann Student Mourned

A 16 year old straight A, Philadelphia charter school student is claiming police went overboard roughing him up at a train station while he was with teammates on his way to a basketball game. Darrin Manning claims a female officer sexually assaulted him during a pat down and ruptured one of his testicles. The 22nd district is investigating.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie now says he may have learned earlier about the questionable lane closures on the GW bridge access that backed up Fort Lee traffic. Originally, Christie claimed he did not learn about the September 9th to 13th closures until October 1st when he read about it in the Wall Street Journal. Now, a letter has surfaced from Democratic Senator Loretta Weinberg dated Sept 19th to the Port Authority about the closures. Christie is cc’d on that letter.

More than 200 people gathered in Delaware County last night to mourn the loss of Dante DeSimone, an 18 year old freshman at Neumann University. DeSimone was killed in an auto accident on Baltimore Pike in Clifton Heights. As a child, DeSimone overcame a medical condition and time in a body cast to become an ice hockey and lacrosse player at Upper Darby High School.
