Montgomery County officials are warning residents about a rash of car thefts. Police in Upper Gwynedd Township responded to 15 calls of stolen items early on January 13th and 14th. The thefts happened on Beth Drive, Clearview Road, Park Road, Dunleavy Place, Kristen Circle, Hartley Place and Collins Avenue. Thieves took items including money, iPods, credit cards, and a laptop. Most of the vehicles were easily entered because the doors were unlocked, though two had their windows smashed. Upper Gwynedd Police want to remind residents to remove valuables and lock your doors. Also, call police if you see anything unusual.

Police are on the lookout for a group of females targeting area Apple retail stores. Upper Merion Police Officer Harry Nuskey described the group as 5 females. Two stand outside and watch guard, while three go inside. Once inside one will distract the employees and the others with snatch the merchandise before they all leave together. The group hit the Suburban Square store on December 23. They returned the next day, but an employee called police. They also hit the King of Prussia store on January 3rd, stealing iPads and iPhones and returning the next day for more. They may be responsible for other robberies at other area stores. Contact Upper or Lower Merion police if you have any information.
