A 25-year-old mother was putting her kids in the car when a man armed with a knife tried pulling her into the woods to rape her at Stoney Creek Park in Lansdale. He is a homeless 16-year-old self-described citizen of El Salvador and police allege Herson Guardado tried to rape a young mother. The mom who called 911 and her children were not injured. Guardado was arrested, may be in the country illegally and the Department of Homeland Security is investigating. He remains locked up on $100,000 cash bail.

Moorestown Police are searching for two brazen burglars who they say are on the run in a stolen vehicle. According to police, the residents returned home to find their front door kicked in. Entering the residence, police say they were confronted by a white male and female described as being in their mid to late 30′s. The suspects then fled the area in a GMC Sierra Pickup with NJ registration MYL-85V, according to police. That vehicle had been reported stolen Tuesday morning to Monroe Township Police.

Atlantic City’s casino revenue fell below $3 billion last year for the first time in 22 years, as increasing competition in the northeastern U.S. continued to shrink the market. It marked the seventh straight year of plunging gambling revenue for Atlantic City, which won $5.2 billion in 2006. That was the year the first of what would become 12 Pennsylvania casinos opened, cutting deeply into a market the New Jersey resort town once called its own. The casino saturation claimed its first New Jersey victim on Monday when the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel shut down, leaving Atlantic City with 11 casinos.
