Two Students were shot Friday afternoon at a North Philadelphia high school. The incident happened at Delaware Valley Charter High School, located at 5201 Old York Rd in the Logan section at around 3:20pm. A student at the school pulled out a handgun in the gymnasium and it discharged. It is unclear if it was intentional or accidental. Two 15-year-old students (one male and one female) were each struck in the arm and taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center. They are in stable condition. The school was placed on lockdown and students were being led out in individually. There is a staging area at Old York Road and West Fisher Avenue for parents to pick up evacuated children. One suspect has been cleared by police. A second suspect is currently in custody and is being questioned. A third suspect is still at large. The weapon has not been recovered.

A Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court judge today struck down the controversial voter ID law saying the photo ID requirement is unconstitutional. Judge Bernard McGinley said that the law imposed an unreasonable burden on voters without valid ID and that officials failed to demonstrate the need for ID in the first place. “Voting laws are designed to assure a free and fair election; the Voter ID Law does not further this goal,” McGinley wrote. McGinley contrasted the ease of access that electors have to the 9,300 voting places to the only 71 PennDOT locations they would have to travel to to obtain proper ID. Enforcement of the photo ID has now been blocked, but that can be appealed by the Corbett administration.

Three people were arrested Thursday night after a fight broke out during a party at a Chuck E. Cheese in New Jersey. The incident happened at the children's restaurant on Chambersbridge Road in Brick. Police say that 44-year-old Bertrick Artis threatened another patron, demanding cash, saying he was going to “shoot the place up” if they didn't turn it over. When that didn't work, he reached into their pockets looking for money. When police came they determined Antinique White, 21, and Martez Williams, 22, were also involved in the incident. Artis was charged with robbery and his bail has been set at $350,000. Wright was charged with with possession of a stun gun and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in her vehicle. Williams was charged possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released released on a criminal summons.

Partly Cloudy, temperatures in the high 30's in Center City.
