Hugh Douglas will plead No Contest; Amber Alert Ahorrio Children Found; Man Stole Generator

Former NFL defensive lineman Hugh Douglas will plead no contest in a misdemeanor assault case in Connecticut. He is accused of assaulting his girlfriend at a Hotel in Hartford. Douglas' lawyer Corey Brinson says he expects his client to to plead no contest to a breach of peace charge in court on Monday in order to avoid a jail sentence. He was charged with with felony assault and strangulation last September. Douglas played from 1995-2004 for the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and Jacksonville Jaguars. The 42-year-old currently lives in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Two children from Lancaster County that were the subject of an Amber Alert overnight have been found safe and the two suspects are in custody. Police stopped a black Nissan Altima at Route 1 and I-76 in Philadelphia just before 8:00 a.m. Friday morning. Inside were the two children, 3-year-old Erielys Ahorrio and 4-year-old John Ahorrio, and the two suspects, 23-year-old Eddie Ahorrio, Jr. and his 47-year-old father, Eddie Ahorrio, Sr. The children were taken by gunpoint at 7:30 p.m. Thursday from a home on Almanac Avenue in Lancaster City. The suspects were their father and grandfather. The children were taken during an argument. After the state trooper pulled over the vehicle matching the alert, the suspects were taken without incident and the children were unharmed.

A man in West Goshen, PA was arrested for stealing a portable emergency generator being used to power a traffic light. James Hutchinson was at a traffic light at Greenhill and Airport Roads Thursday night with his door open when he was spotted by police. The generator had been locked up and powering the traffic signals. Hutchinson told the officer that a man in a red Ford Explorer had taken the generator, but when pressed by the officer he admitted to taking it. Hutchinson was charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
