Winter Storm Through Tonight Brings More Snow, SEPTA Cancellations, PECO Will Not Credit

It's a good day to stay inside and listen to music. This winter storm won't let up until tomorrow morning. And because the storm is tracking the way it is Philadelphia may get a foot of snow. Northern and western suburbs will see over a foot before it's all over. It will lighten up at times this afternoon, but it is a Nor'easter and the back end of the storm will drop several more inches tonight and overnight as temperatures plummet and everything freezes.

Conditions are worse that SEPTA had anticipated and at 10 am the mass transit authority decided to suspend all bus services until further notice. That means those of you who made to work by bus this morning will have to find another way home. Trolleys, trains and regional rails are operating with delays, for now. Check SEPTA’s website before heading out.

PECO says it will not offer credit to customers who lost power during the ice storm. PECO obviously can’t charge customers for power while it was off, however those on the budget plan will not get a credit. Those budget payments are based on prior months usage averages. With the outages, lower usage may affect future bills for budget customers.

Sports
Pitchers and catchers reported today in Clearwater where it is 66 degrees for our 2014 Phillies. Drexel plays in Charleston tonight. Temple and Louisville has been postponed due to the storm.

Weather
Winter Storm Warning. Light precipitation this afternoon. Heavier snow late tonight and overnight. 36 in Center City.
