Philadelphia Principals Pay Cut, Lehigh Valley Dairy OJ Recall, West Oak Lane Red Light Cameras

Philadelphia principals tonight heard about the serious givebacks included in their tentative contract agreement with the financially-struggling school district. The deal calls for principals to be paid as 10-month instead of 12-month employees, and to begin paying health care premiums. The cash-strapped school district is demanding $133 million in concessions from its labor unions.

Lehigh Valley Dairy is voluntarily recalling orange juice because it may contain milk, a common allergen. The Food and Drug Administration said the recall Thursday affects multiple brands distributed to both retail and food-service locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. The affected brands and sizes are Lehigh Valley half pints, half gallons and gallons; Swiss Premium half gallons and gallons, and Price Chopper gallons.

Red light cameras have been installed, and now fines for running a red light are now in effect at the intersection of Stenton and Ogontz Avenues in West Oak Lane. It’s the intersection where Mount Airy, West Oak Lane and Germantown all meet. Officials from the Philadelphia Parking Authority say this is a very busy intersection. There’s a church, a school, homes and even businesses all within a short distance from each other.
