A forest fire in New Jersey has forced evacuations in the area. The forest fire started at about 11:42 a.m. on the border of Beachwood and Berkeley Township in Ocean County. The fire is reportedly near at least 40 homes. In total, 621 homes were evacuated. Strong winds are being blamed for causing the fire to spread and officials say this is a class 5 fire, the most dangerous type, and is 80% contained.

UPDATE: 11:49 pm The Ocean County fire is now 100 percent contained and evacuated residents were allowed back in their homes.

Summer Infant is recalling about 800,000 rechargeable batteries used in baby video monitors because of a burn hazard. The Woonsocket, R.I.-based manufacturer has received 22 reports of overheated and ruptured batteries, including incidents of smoke and minor property damage. Consumers can contact Summer Infant for a replacement battery at 800-426-8627 or online at http://www.summerinfant.com. The batteries were manufactured in China. About 58,800 batteries were recalled in February 2011.

Police in Collingdale are investigating after a potential attempted luring. A woman says her daughter was walking home near Academy Park High School earlier on Thursday when she was approached by a suspicious man who was in a black car. The 13-year-old girl says the man told her he wanted to show her something in his trunk, but she managed to make it home safely. The vehicle was captured on surveillance video pulling into a parking spot, and Collingdale police continue to investigate.
