Intruder Killed in Overbrook, Flood Watch, Jocelyn "Bonnie" Kirsch Back in Jail

A homeowner in Overbrook has apparently shot and killed an intruder during a home invasion last night. The 22 year old man arrived home and found four or five people in his house. One of them was killed in the confrontation. Philadelphia police report the homeowner was also shot in the leg but is expected to be okay.

Travel on the roads is treacherous today around the entire Philadelphia region. There is serious flooding and ponding on many roads around Philadelphia and New Jersey. Several cars have been stranded on flooded roads and drivers have had to be rescued. Flood Watches are in effect through tomorrow morning.

Jocelyn Kirsch is headed back to prison. Nicknamed “Bonnie” for her “Bonnie and Clyde” crime spree that involved identity theft and fraud while a student at Drexel in 2007, Kirsch got picked up for simple shoplifting while on probation after her 5 year prison term. The judge wondered aloud if Kirsch is mentally ill or just a self-indulgent criminal. Jocelyn Kirsch was sentenced to 5 more months behind bars.

Sports
Game 7 tonight, Flyers and Rangers at Madison Square Garden. The Phillies are home with the Mets.

Weather
Thunderstorms and flood watch today. 62 in Center City.
