Broad Street Runners Prepare, Corbett Changes Position on Marijuana, Fundraiser for Pizza Guy

40,000 people are going through their final preparations before Philadelphia's 35th annual Broad Street Run. The 10 mile run down Broad starts at Central High and finishes at the Navy Yard. Runners picking up race bibs today and tomorrow are reminded that bag checks will not accept backpacks in heightened security. Pre-race bag checks will only accept clear plastic bags.

Governor Tom Corbett has changed his position on marijuana. Corbett now supports a medical marijuana policy and is backing the legalization of a marijuana extract to treat severe seizures in children. Corbett said he wants to help families, who believe the oil extract cannabidiol can save their children’s lives.

Neighbors of the pizza delivery guy who police shot by mistake are getting together to help. Philippe Holland is still in the hospital, but neighbors wanted to offer some no-strings attached kindness. A PayPal account has been set up and Mariposa Food Co-op on Baltimore Avenue near 49th is also taking donations.

Sports
The Phillies open a three game series with the Nationals tonight.

Weather
Mix of sun and clouds today. 68 in Center City.
