A 12-year-old boy and a 21-year-old have both been hospitalized after gunfire broke out in Lawncrest this evening. It happened after 9:00 pm on the 500 block of Van Kirk Street near Rising Sun Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia. The man and the boy were walking together when they were caught in the crossfire. The boy was hit in the leg and was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and is listed in stable condition. The man, who may have been the intended target, was shot in the chest and is in critical condition at Einstein Medical Center. The gunman was seen wearing a black t-shirt and fatigues. Police are still investigating.

A bus driver has been suspended and some of teenagers responsible have turned themselves into police following a brutal beating of another teen on a school bus in Dover, DE. The incident happened on Tuesday, April 29th. The 15-year-old was repeatedly punched and kicked by four classmates while a fifth caught it on cell phone video. The bus driver did not stop, call 911, or notify the school while this was happening. The brutalized boy was evenutally let off the bus 14 miles from home. Five students have been charged with 3rd degree assault and conspiracy. They all attend Parkway Academy Central, an alternative school for kids with disciplinary problems.
