An emergency Police dispatcher in Philadelphia has been indicted on federal charges that she took bribes from tow truck operators to send them crash locations and other information. FBI and Philadelphia police investigators said Friday that civilian dispatcher Dorian Parsley took bribes of $100-200 a week from two tow truck operators and a body shop. The dispatch system is designed to prevent “wreck chasers” with a rotational tow program. Parsley circumvented the system by using her personal cell phone to text information to the operators who paid her bribes. The 16-year-veteran has been suspended with intent to dismiss. The operators are also facing charges.

A 10-year-old boy was shot in the leg this afternoon while riding his bike in Chester County. It happen around 5 pm on the unit block of West Main Street in North Coventry Township. He was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The incident is still under investigation. No word on the extent of his injuries or how and why he was struck by a bullet.

The Philadelphia Phillies have sent Freddy Galvis down to AAA Lehigh Valley. To say that Galvis has struggled at the plate this year would be an understatement. He is hitting .048 (2-for-42) with one RBI, three walks and 12 strikeouts over 16 games. On the other hand, he has been excellent in the field, not committing an error while playing third base, shortstop and second base over those games. Manager Ryne Sandberg hopes that Galvis can get his at-bats and gather himself down in the minors. The Phillies are bringing up infielder Reid Brignac who is hitting .284 with five home runs and 21 RBIs in 30 games.

Tonight,
Cloudy, temperatures low 70s/upper 60s this evening in Center City.
