Philadelphia Police have charged a mother and her live-in boyfriend after her first-grader brought in packets of heroin to school on Tuesday morning. 32-year-old Marie Hunter, and her live-in boyfriend, 28-year-old Christopher Troy-Jenkins White, have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of narcotics and recklessly endangering another person. Police searched their home hours after Hunter's 6-year-old daughter was found with 11 bags of heroin in her classroom at John Barry Promise Academy at 59th and Race streets in West Philadelphia. Her teacher saw the child showing off the packets to other classmates. The entire class of 20 students was taken to CHOP as a precaution. The girl who brought the drugs to school complained of dizziness. The children were all cleared after an evaluation. The girl is now in the care of DHS.

Two people have been arrested and charged with staging a robbery at a retail store in Abington, Montgomery County on Tuesday. Yesterday morning, one female employee was minding the Family Dollar store in Roslyn, when a man entered, pulled a gun, and demanded money. The employee gave him cash from the register and the safe. The man then fled. Police say that the whole thing was faked. The employee apparently knew the suspect, helped plan the robbery, and was expecting a cut of the take. The employee, 41-year-old Soyini Moody, and her accomplice, 34-year-old Shaheim Pettiway, both from Philadelphia, are now behind bars facing numerous charges. Nearby Copper Beach Elementary School was placed on lockdown during the robbery as a precaution. The incident was captured on surveillance.

A Philadelphia couple was arrested and charged with lewdness this past weekend for having sex in the ocean in broad daylight. Matthew McPeak, 27, and Stephanie Wallington, 23, both of Philadelphia, were arrested on Sunday near the 46th Street beach in Sea Isle City. (see photo below) Police officers as well as a growing crowd of gawkers witnessed the duo going at it in the surf around 4:00pm. According to witnesses, the pair weren't aware of the attention and continued until police directed them out of the water. They were taken into custody, charged with lewdness, and then released on summonses.

Tonight,
Cloudy, temperatures around 70 this evening in Center City.
