PA Attorney General Kathleen Kane released the report on the investigation of how the Jerry Sandusky case was handled. Kane had pledged to look into the pacing of the probe and hired a former federal prosecutor to handle the probe. Governor Tom Corbett was Attorney General at the time of the Sandusky probe and reassures he did not do anything to slow the probe for political reasons.

The Philadelphia Union sponsored a block party in Center City on Locust Street for soccer fans to drink, eat and cheer the USA in their World Cup match with Portugal in Brazil. A giant LED TV gave fans a great view of a game that the US battled to a 2-2 tie.

Montgomery County is looking into the possibility of putting a hydroelectric power system at the Norristown Dam on the Schuylkill River. Officials believe a system could generate 12 million kilowatts a year – enough to power 3,600 homes. County commissioners approved a request for $100,000 to fund a study.

Sports
The Phillies start a home stand with the Florida Marlins tonight.
