A Felton man has been arrested after police say he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend then ran into the woods, leading officers on a nearly four hour long search. Saturday afternoon police received a 911 call from a 39-year-old woman reporting her boyfriend, Steven Tribbett, 29, assaulted her by pushing her down and placing his knee across her neck, cutting off her airway. The female was able to escape and locked herself in her vehicle where she then called police. At one point, officials say he fired a shotgun in the direction of officers.

Child endangerment charges have been filed against a southern New Jersey father who allegedly was driving drunk with his two young children in the car. Galloway Township police say 30-year-old Paul Dessicino of Mays Landing was also charged with heroin possession after his vehicle was stopped around 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Route 30. Dessicino’s two children, ages 4 and 5, were found inside the vehicle and were not injured. They were turned over to their mother.

Philadelphia Police say a two-year old was hit by a minivan in the city’s Kensington neighborhood Sunday afternoon. Authorities say the child was struck by the vehicle around 4 p.m. on East Monmouth Street near Kensington Avenue. The two-year old was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in stable condition. Police say the driver remained at the scene of the accident and will likely not be charged.
