Police have a 23 year old West Philadelphia man in custody in connection with the brutal murder of Laura Araujo, a recent graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Her body was found in North Philly in a duffel bag, bound with duct tape on Monday. Her car was found on fire in South Philadelphia. Police have surveillance camera footage from both locations. The man in custody lives in the same building as the victim.

Senator Bob Casey votes today to overturn the Supreme Court’s recent Hobby Lobby decision and force most businesses to offer employees contraceptive coverage, even if owners raise religious objections. Casey, a democrat, is Catholic and opposes abortion but supports contraception as a way to reduce the number of abortions.

Workers at a daycare in Camden were surprised by what they found in the nursery bag of an 11 month old girl. A loaded 9 mm handgun. The child had been dropped off at El Centro Child Care Center on Martin Luther King Boulevard. It turns out the gun, loaded with rounds of hollow point bullets, had been reported stolen in Philadelphia. The child’s father, Rakeem Williams from Lindenwold is under arrest on a variety of charges.
