There were 34 drug overdoses and 42 arrests at a concert in Seaside Heights this weekend. The two day Electric Adventure Beach weekend featured EDM, Electronic Dance Music Saturday and Sunday. None of the overdoses resulted in death. Prior to this year the event had been held at Great Adventure.

A woman drowned at the Jersey shore possibly after getting caught in a rip current. She was pulled from the water by the Atlantic City Beach Patrol at South Carolina beach around 7 pm Monday where she was floating face down about 175 yards off shore. She was unconscious but rescuers were unable to revive her. Lifeguards went off duty about an hour before the incident.

Open since 1887 at 63rd and Callowhill the Catholic church Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament has closed its doors. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia merged the parish in 2013 with St. Cyprian on Cobbs Creek Parkway but remained open as a worship center. At a cost of $35,000 per year to maintain the Archdiocese decided to close it for good.
