A $25,750 reward is now being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible in a drive-by shooting at a Gloucester County, New Jersey Police station early this morning. The incident happened around 4:05 a.m. on Tuesday at the West Deptford Police Department building in Thorofare, NJ. Surveillance cameras mounted on the building show a small dark-colored sedan driving eastbound through the parking lot. Someone in the vehicle fired seven shots at the municipal building which houses the police department. Five rounds hit the door officers use to get to their vehicles, another hit a gutter, and the seventh round went into a deputy's office window. The car was able to flee before officers could respond. No one was injured in the attack. Police are trying to determine a specific motive. They have not had any recent threats or reasons to be forewarned last night. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Cramer at 856-853-4599 ext. 164 or mcramer at westdeptfordpd.com.

Atlantic City's Revel casino will close it's doors September 10th, according to company officials Tuesday. This announcement came after the faltering $2.4 billion casino/resort failed to find a qualified bidder in a bankruptcy court auction last week. The closure means the loss of 3,100 jobs. Revel only opened a little over 2 years ago in April of 2012, the first new casino in the seaside resort town since Borgata opened in 2003. It first filed for bankruptcy in 2013 and again in June. It was never able to turn a profit. Once the exclusive east coast destination, the casino market in Atlantic City has felt the competition from its neighbors. Since the first PA casino opened in 2006, gaming revenues have dropped from $5.2 billion to $2.86 billion last year. Revel will join Showboat closing August 31st and Trump Plaza closing September 16th. Owners may still find a buyer for the property, but not before they are forced to close operations.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Phillies, Ogontz Ave Revitalization Corp, Mann Center, Philadelphia Gas Co, etc. These are just the top of the list of 389 businesses and other entities that Philadelphia Controller Alan Butkovitz says haven't paid their bills to the City of Philadelphia for police services totaling $2.5 million. The Phillies owe $275,875 dating back to the rained out Game 5 of the 2008 World Series. The biggest offender is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania itself owing $341,328 dating back to March '07. Many of the businesses are bars, nightclubs, construction companies, other police departments, and government agencies. Butkovitz urged Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and Revenue Commissioner Clarena Tolson to collect on the 168 balances 90 days past due totaling $1.8 million. This could be a revenue stream for the city if collection practices were improved.
