Revel Casino to Close, Everett Theatre Remembers Robin Williams, I-95 PA Tpk Connection

Revel Casino, once hoped to be the savior of Atlantic City, will close in September after just 2 years. The $2.4 billion casino will sit vacant after the summer when 3,100 people lose their jobs. Revel has been unable to find a buyer to pay even pennies on the dollar for the sleek new gambling hall, underscoring the oversaturated market conditions on the east coast.

Sadness is lingering over the loss of actor/comedian Robin Williams who committed suicide on Monday. At the Everett Theatre in Middletown, Delaware where Williams filmed Dead Poets Society 25 years ago, Williams is being fondly remembered by some of the cast and crew that had the chance to work with him. Robin Williams recently made a donation to the Everett to replace their old projector. The new system was installed 3 days before Williams’ death.

Work will begin at the end of September to connect I-95 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The $420 million Stage 1 of the new interchange will provide an unbroken I-95 between Maine and Florida. The first $142.9 million will pay for widening and reconstructing about 4 miles of the turnpike in Bristol Township where the connection to I-95 will be built. Stage 1 is expected to be completed in 2018.

The Phillies play the Angels tonight.
