Mo'Ne Davis, the 13 year old girl pitcher from Philadelphia playing in the Little League World Series is on the cover of Sports Illustrated. This is the first time a Little Leaguer has been on the magazine's cover. Mo'Ne and the Taney Dragons battle an offensive powerhouse tonight from Las Vegas in a semi-final matchup in Williamsport. The game is at 7:30 pm on ESPN.

A small demonstration in Philadelphia pledged solidarity with Ferguson, Missouri, condemning what they call police brutality in the killing of unarmed 18 year old Michael Brown. Event organizer Sabrina Sample is concerned that something similar could happen in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the violent protests in Ferguson have been calmed by local clergy and activists.

The re-imagined Dilworth Plaza at City Hall will soon re-open as Dilworth Park with programmable fountains, upscale café, subway access and even ice skating. September 4th is the scheduled opening with three days of live music, food and entertainment at the $55 million remake. About two-thirds of the space will be finished with the remainder completed by Thanksgiving.

Sports
The Phillies and Seattle Mariners wrap up their series this afternoon.

The Taney Dragons face Las Vegas in the Little League World Series semi-final tonight.
