Philadelphia Police have completed their investigation into the assault of a gay couple in Center City 1 ½ weeks ago by a large group of men and women. They have submitted their files over to the District Attorney's office today who will make the determination on any charges to be filed. Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey believes they have enough to press charges against some of the individuals involved. That call is up to the prosectors. The incident happened on the evening of September 11th when two men were assaulted by a group of around 12 men and women in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. The couple was called homophobic slurs before the assault. Both were taken to the hospital with injuries, one had to have his jaw wired shut due to facial fractures. Police release surveillance video last week of the suspects, who were then quickly identified through social media.

Hundreds of police officers continued to search the woods in Monroe and Pike counties in northeastern Pennsylvania on Monday hunting down Eric Frein, accused of ambushing two state troopers outside their barracks on Sept. 12th. Police say they are homing in on the gunman focusing their efforts on a few square miles. Frein has been described as a self-taught survivalist who may have planned this for months or years. He could have bunkers built in the dense forest where he is hiding. Gov. Corbett held a press conference today saying, "I feel confident that we should be able to apprehend this individual." Schools were closed again today in the area and authorities are warning residents to remain alert, however, it is believed Frein's grudge is with law enforcement.

One teen is dead and another hospitalized after a shooting near Einstein Hospital in Logan section Monday afternoon. The incident began around 4:15 pm near the SEPTA Transportation Center at Broad and Olney. Police had received a call about a large group of rowdy juveniles. The crowd began to move south on Broad towards Einstein, when someone pulled out a gun and began to fire near Old York Road and Tabor Road. A 15-year-old girl was hit in the lower back. She was taken inside the hospital and died. A 19-year-old man was shot in the torso and leg and his currently in critical condition in the hospital. Police apprehended five young adults and juveniles who were with the shooter at the time of the incident. They are looking for the suspect. He is described as a 17-year-old black male who was wearing a blank tank top with possible tattoos on his neck.

UPDATE 9/23 2:20 pm: Police identified the victim as 15 yr old Aisha Abdur Rahman. The suspect has been identified as 19 yr old Darian Person of Rowan Street (pictured below). There is a $20,000 reward. Anyone with information on Person's whereabouts is asked to contact Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
