The PA state Senate has sent a bill to Governor Tom Corbett that will authorize a $2 per pack tax on cigarettes to raise cash for Philadelphia schools. Governor Corbett, said in a statement that he would sign the bill authorizing the cigarette tax for city schools as soon as it reached his desk.

Delaware State Police have charged a driver of a tour bus that crashed in New Castle on Sunday, killing two people and injuring dozens. Troopers announced Tuesday that 56-year-old Jinli Zhao, of Flushing, New York has been charged with two counts of the Operation of a Vehicle Causing Death of Another Person. Fifty-four-year-old Hua’y Chen of New York City, New York and 30-year-old Idil Bahsi, of Istanbul, Turkey were killed in Sunday’s crash. Police say preliminary investigation has determined that drugs and alcohol is not considered a contributing factor.

A suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that left a 15-year-old student dead has turned himself in. Police named 19-year-old Darian Person as the suspect who allegedly fired the shot that killed 15-year-old Aisha Abdur Rhaman in front of Einstein Hospital in Olney Monday afternoon. Authorities say it all started when a group of around 50 teens started to fight at the Transportation Center. That eventually made its way towards the area of the hospital where the shots were fired.
