NFL Penalty for Muslim Prayer; Albertson's Data Breach; Mumia Abu-Jamal Commencement Speech

The NFL has another issue to deal with after last night’s Kansas City Chiefs victory over the New England Patriots. In the 4th quarter, Chiefs safety Hussain Abdullah intercepted a Tom Brady pass and returned it for a touchdown. Abdullah, who is a Muslim, dropped to his knees in prayer (pictured). The referees threw a flag and penalized the team for unsportsmanlike conduct for a prolonged celebration. Social media is lighting up with opinions on whether the NFL should also fine him.

The most recent retail credit and debit card data breach may affect you if you shopped at Acme, Albertson’s, Supervalu, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s and Star Market stores. If you used a credit or debit card at any of these stores between August 27th and September 21st, take a close look at bank balances and credit card statements. More information on the data breach is available at the parent company website, Albertsons.com

Imprisoned cop killer, Mumia Abu-Jamal will deliver a college commencement address this weekend. Abu-Jamal, serving life for the murder of Officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981, was invited by the graduating class at Goddard College in Vermont to deliver their commencement speech. Abu-Jamal received a bachelor of arts degree by mail from Goddard in 1996. His address was recorded in prison and will be played at Sunday’s ceremony.
