Training Exercise Kills Skippack PA Trooper, NFL Admits Penalty Mistake, Walk 4 Hearing October 5th

Pennsylvania State Police say a State Trooper has died following an accidental shooting at a gun range at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Campus in Conshohocken. State Police say the trooper, David Kedra from the Skippack barracks, was fatally wounded after being shot in the chest during a training exercise. Trooper Kedra, was 26 years old.

It was deep in the fourth quarter, when Kansas City Chief's Safety Husain Abdullah turned an interception into a touchdown during this week's Monday Night Football. After he scored, Abdullah slid into the end zone and bowing in a Salaat style Muslim prayer gesture. NFL officials called a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. The NFL has made exceptions and outright exemptions for players who make religious gestures from the turf. NFL Spokesperson Michael Signora released this statement saying quote "Abdullah should not have been penalized. Officiating mechanic is not to flag player who goes to ground for religious reasons."

Students and parents at the Clarke School for Hearing and Speech in Bryn Mawr are busy with a very special assignment: preparing for the “Walk 4 Hearing” which will step off October 5th at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia. The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) describes the Walk4Hearing as the “largest walk of its kind taking place in multiple cities across the country.” Philadelphia’s Walk4Hearing begins with registration at 9 a.m and the Walk at 10 a.m. at the Navy Yard, 4747 South Broad Street, Sunday, October 5th. To contribute as an individual or team, you can visit the Walk4Hearing website.
