Search and Vigil for Shane Montgomery; Jamie Moyer Leaves Broadcast; NJ Man Fled Accident Scene

21-year-old West Chester University student Shane Montgomery of Roxborough is still missing this evening after disappearing from a Manayunk bar very early on Thanksgiving morning. Montgomery was last seen leaving Kildare's Pub at 1:45 a.m. on Main Street after a night out with friends on Thanksgiving Eve. The search continued Saturday. Approximately 500 volunteers, led by Greater Philadelphia Search and Rescue, came out this morning to go door-to-door, hand out fliers, and search the canal and banks of the Schuykill River. The Police marine unit, helicopters and K-9 units have also searched in the past few days. Tonight after the search a candlelight prayer vigil was held outside at Canal View Park which is across Main Street from Kildare's. The Christmas tree lighting and caroling event in Manayunk was cancelled for tonight due to the search. Following the candlelight vigil a special mass was held at St. John the Baptist Church.
The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Patrick Valentino at 215-686-3353 or -3354.

Jamie Moyer has decided not to return in 2015 as a member of the Phillies broadcast team. Moyer, a Souderton native and graduate of Saint Joseph's University, joined the broadcast crew along with fellow 2008 World Series alumnus Matt Stairs last winter. The pair replaced Chris Wheeler and Gary "Sarge" Mathews in the booth. Moyer, 52, says that he wants to be able to spend more time with family. He currently lives on the West Coast and managing the bicoastal life was difficult. Comcast SportsNet and the Phillies will have to begin a search for another color commentator. Tom McCarthy, Stairs, Greg Murphy, and Mike Schmidt will all be returning.

A man in Cumberland County, NJ, fled the scene of an accident last Sunday night because he "didn't want to deal with his girlfriend yelling at him." 21-year-old David Scarpa of Vineland was having an argument with his girlfriend when he backed into a utility pole. He fled the scene and didn't report the accident immediately. A witness called police and said they heard “yelling” then a bang and saw debris on the ground near the pole. Scarpa turned himself into police headquarters on Monday afternoon. He has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving.
