Shane Montgomery Video; Protest Cancels Lantern Parade; Trump Tower Site For Sale

A new surveillance video is believed to show missing college student Shane Montgomery leaving the area of Kildare's pub, walking toward a bridge over the Manayunk Canal - and vanishing, according to law enforcement sources. A spokeswoman for the FBI task force investigating the disappearance with Philadelphia police would not confirm or deny the existence of the video. Sources said the video shows Montgomery heading across Main Street shortly after 1:50 a.m., when he left Kildare's Irish Pub, walking toward a footpath over the canal. That footpath opens onto an isolated parking lot on a thin wedge of land that sits between the canal and a steep, unguarded bluff over the Schuylkill. The video - surveillance from Christie's Nail Salon on Main Street nearby - does not show Montgomery emerging later from the footpath area.

A scheduled Ferguson protest has forced the cancellation of Philadelphia’s Christmas Lantern Parade. The operators of Christmas Village in LOVE Park have announced that today's "Lantern Parade" and its associated performances have been canceled due to scheduled protests in connection with the deadly shootings of two unarmed black men by white police officers. The parade had been set to start at 5 p.m., the same time the Ferguson National Response Network has called for a demonstration.

The vacant site of the 45-story "Trump Tower" project is for sale. The city approved the Delaware River waterfront property in Fishtown north of Center City Philadelphia but never got built. The two-acre site would be best suited for apartments, according to the broker. The Trump-brand project was one of the grand high rise proposals killed off by the financial crisis of 2008 and the following recession.

Sports
Jimmy Rollins has been traded to the Dodgers. Tonight the Flyers host the New Jersey Devils.

Weather
Cloudy with snow showers today. 37 in Center City.
