Police in Camden, NJ, are investigating a shooting yesterday outside Cooper Hospital where a man shot and wounded his girlfriend before turning the gun on and killing himself. It started in the early morning hours Saturday near the intersection of Marlton Pike and Baird Boulevard. A couple was having an argument when the boyfriend pulled a gun and shot his girlfriend. The woman's father put her in his car and drove her to the hospital. The boyfriend followed them to the hospital and was eventually tailed by police after running a red light on the way. The man shot and killed himself inside his car near the entrance to the emergency room before officers could approach. The woman is listed in critical condition. The Camden County Metro Police and Camden County Prosecutor’s Office domestic violence unit are investigating.

A limo driver was found shot and killed inside his vehicle Saturday night in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia. It happened around 7 p.m. on the 5400 block of Delancey Street. The victim is described as a 24-year-old man and was shot in the head. Police believe that he was shot by a passenger in the limo. The limo is owned by La Primera Car Inc. based in Juniata. The victim had only been working for the company for a week. According to the company, he had picked up two passengers at 3200 block of 7th Street in North Philadelphia. He dropped off one passenger in North Philly and took the second to Delancey Street. Once there the second passenger pulled a gun and shot the driver, then stole his cell phone and cash. The driver's girlfriend was also in the car, riding in the passenger seat. She was not harmed. She is working with detectives. A description of the suspect has not been released yet. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE 1/4: The limo driver has been identified as 24-year-old Mijael Rodriguez. His finance was sitting in the front seat of the limo with him. They have a 5-month-old baby girl.

Delaware State Police are investigating after the body of a man was found dead in a Newark motel room Saturday afternoon. A motel employee found the unresponsive tenant at around 2:30 pm at the Days Inn at 900 Churchman’s Road. The body has been identified as 34-year-old Matthew Ornstein of Maryland. He was discovered inside a tent that he a pitched on top of the bed. Authorities also found several small propane canisters that they determined Ornstein was using as lighting sources inside the tent. Police do not believe there is any foul play involved but an autopsy will need to be performed to determine cause of death.
