In Paris France this morning, terrorists killed 12 people with assault rifles and wounded 4 others at Charlie Hebdo, a satirical French magazine that has produced comics and published cartoons of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad. In what is described as an organized attack, three masked gunman broke into the magazine's offices and opened fire with assault rifles. The gunmen escaped in two vehicles and the terror alert in Paris in high. The paper's editor and a cartoonist known by the pen names Charb and Cabu are among the dead. Charlie Hebdo was targeted in a fire bomb attack in 2011 after publishing a caricature of Mohammad on its cover.

UPDATE: Officials in Paris have identified the three suspects. Frenchmen Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi are brothers in the 30's. 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad is the third suspect said to have surrendered to police.

President Obama released the following statement:

I strongly condemn the horrific shooting at the offices of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris that has reportedly killed 12 people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this terrorist attack and the people of France at this difficult time. France is America's oldest ally, and has stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States in the fight against terrorists who threaten our shared security and the world. Time and again, the French people have stood up for the universal values that generations of our people have defended. France, and the great city of Paris where this outrageous attack took place, offer the world a timeless example that will endure well beyond the hateful vision of these killers. We are in touch with French officials and I have directed my Administration to provide any assistance needed to help bring these terrorists to justice.

Former Philadelphia TV sportscaster, Don Tollefson told a jury the money just ran out, but he didn’t do anything criminal. Tollefson is defending himself against charges he defaulted on over $300,000 in sports travel packages in the name of charity. Tollefson portrayed himself as a bad businessman with good intentions. Prosecutors claim Tolly used his public trust to extort money from victims. The trial continues today.

It will be an interesting night for Bill Cosby tonight as he returns to the stage for the first time since his personal life has erupted in scandal. Protesters and hecklers in the crowd are planning to make it a rough night for the 77 year old comedian. Cosby cancelled 10 shows in North America after sexual assault allegations. Tonight is the first of three shows in Ontario, Canada.
