With the Nor'easter coming, 6-12 inches of snow expected in the area, the School District of Philadelphia will dismiss students 12 p.m. Monday. Philadelphia Archdiocesan schools and Catholic elementary schools in Philadelphia will also close at noon. All Philadelphia School District after-school activities — including all athletic programs and professional development classes — are canceled for Monday as well. All District Comprehensive Early Learning Centers will also close at 12 p.m.

Five people, including two children, were sickened by carbon monoxide poisoning overnight inside a home in Northeast Philadelphia. It happened shortly after 12 a.m. Monday along the 800 block of Sanger Street in the city’s Summerdale section. Emergency responders opened doors and windows to help air out the home. PGW and the Philadelphia Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the gas leak.

Oscar-nominated American Sniper topped the box office for a second weekend in a row, earning an estimated $64-million and remaining in first place. A distant second place belonged to the new Jennifer Lopez suspense drama, The Boy Next Door, which took in $15-million on its weekend debut. Holdovers Paddington and The Imitation Game were third and fourth with $12-million and $7-million, respectively. And rounding out the top five was the debuting Johnny Depp comedy, Mortdecai, with a total of $4-million.
