Philadelphia City Councilman Jim Kenney has announced that he will resign his position on council this week. Kenny's final council meeting will be this Thursday. This is in anticipation of the Councilman-at-large's larger announcement that he will run for mayor. The city's 'resign to run law' forces elected city officials to resign before running for another office. Kenney, a 23-year veteran of the council, joins Lynne Abraham, Anthony Williams, and Nelson Diaz in the Democratic running.

Upper Darby Police have apprehended a couple they dubbed “the Bonnie and Clyde of Delaware County” over the weekend by following their footprints in the snow. Following a rash of burglaries in Drexel Hill, Superintendent Michael Chitwood assigned plain clothes detectives to the affected areas. Early on Saturday morning the detectives following the footprints of a man to the backdoor of a home. They found and questioned 24-year-old Stephen Dolceamore of Morton. Dolceamore was carrying a bag full of cell phones, ball caps, and change. Detectives followed the footsteps further and found his girlfriend, 25-year-old Kelly Wilkinson of Springfield, in a parked car with more stolen items. Even more stuff was recovered at Wilkinson's home. Chitwood believes that they are connected to several recent burglaries and car thefts.

A partial roof collapse at a Center City store this afternoon injured several shoppers. Bricks falling from an adjacent building crashed through the roof of the Lululemon Athletica store near 15th and Walnut around 3:30 pm. Three women were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries. The Fire Marshal and Licenses and Inspections are investigating the incident.

Tonight,
Partly Cloudy, temperatures falling through the 20's in Center City
