Philadelphia International Airport is dealing with dozens of cancelled flights this morning. The majority of the cancellations are with arriving flights, but there are a good number of departures that have been cancelled as well. The majority of the affected flights are scheduled to either arrive or depart before 10am. Airlines are expecting to resume regular flight operations at Philadelphia International Airport today, but the Airport advises anyone who planning on flying Wednesday to check their flight status.

The president and vice president are expected to be in Philadelphia this week for the house Democrats annual policy retreat. Democratic lawmakers will be working on their agenda Wednesday through Friday. President Obama will speak at a dinner Thursday evening, and Vice President Biden will make an appearance on Friday. The DNC Advisory Committee is expected to announce the city where the 2016 convention will be held in coming weeks. Philadelphia, New York, and Columbus are in the running.

Equality Pennsylvania launched a statewide education campaign on Tuesday to raise awareness about ongoing discrimination against the Commonwealth’s LGBT community. The purpose of the weeklong effort is to let the public know that while gays, lesbians and transgenders can marry, they can still be fired, evicted or treated unfairly because of their sexual orientation. The organization is holding events across the state through Monday to galvanize support for another push to get an LGBT anti-discrimination bill passed in Pennsylvania.
