An 18-year-old Millersville University freshman from Chadds Ford was found dead in her dorm room Sunday. Karlie Hall was reportedly found badly beaten and her boyfriend has been arrested. There were reports of a physical altercation before she was found unresponsive about 5 a.m. The boyfriend, 19 year old Gregorio Orrostieta, of Kennett Square, was not a student at the school. He was ordered held on $1.5 million bail late Sunday.

UPDATE 2/7 3:20 pm: Orrostieta has now been charged with homicide in the death of Karlie Hall.

Philadelphia police are searching for an 84 year old woman suffering from dementia. Annie Jordan was last seen Sunday at her home in the Kingsessing section. She is known to frequent the area around St. Cyprian’s Church on Cobbs Creek Parkway. Annie is 5’1” 150 lbs, brown eyes, gray hair, a light brown complexion wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police in Lower Merion Township faced residents for a discussion over racial profiling. It was standing room only for the community meeting after several officers were cleared after two groups of black men were stopped by Lower Merion police while going door-to-door shoveling. Chief Michael McGrath defended his officers saying the men stopped were soliciting which requires a permit.
