Camden Home Collapse; Flower Show Concludes; Eagles Lose Maclin, Gain Maxwell and Gore

A Camden home partially collapsed with a family still inside overnight. Three adults and a child were inside the home at the time. Fortunately, no one was hurt and they were all able to evacuate the home safely. In 2003 the adjoining row home next door burnt down and was demolished, but the wall was never stabilized. City officials visited the home last week and put a notice on the door, but allowed the family to remain in the dwelling.

The Philadelphia Flower Show concluded its 9 day run at the Convention Center yesterday with a nice boost in attendance. An estimated 250,000 people enjoyed the sights, sounds and scents of the event, a 10% increase over last year. The show’s producer, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society was pleased with their effort to attract a younger audience, as the number of children and students doubled this year.

The Eagles have been busy laying the groundwork for re-tooling the team as the free-agent signing period opens Tuesday. It’s reported that wide receiver Jeremy Maclin will go to the Kansas City Chiefs and reunite with Andy Reid. The Eagles will pick up Seattle cornerback Byron Maxwell and San Francisco running back, Frank Gore.
