An Upper Darby mother has been arrested after a carbon monoxide leak led to the discovery of squalid living conditions for her two children. 29-year-old Christina Wright has been charged with endangering the welfare of her children. At 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, next door neighbors called 911when the CO detectors went off in their row home on the 7000 block of Guilford Road in Upper Darby. Emergency responders checked their home and then moved on next door. The front door was open and they found a 7-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy in the back room. The girl said she was babysitting and her mother was at work. There was no heat in the house and the oven was on to heat the home. Upstairs there was a space heater in a room full of clothing and papers. The home was deemed a fire hazard and unfit for human habitation. The children were taken and are now in the care of family members. The mother was arrested when she came home. She was was arraigned and released on $30,000 unsecured bail.

Firefighters in South Jersey battled a two-alarm blaze this afternoon that tore through a strip club. It started around 3 p.m. at Double D’s Strip Club in the 1100 block of S. Delsea Drive in Vineland, NJ. Heavy smoke and flames were billowing from the roof of the building. There have been no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
