St. Joseph's University is conducting an investigation into allegations of hazing involving the women's softball team. The university has been conducting interviews with student athletes, coaches, and staff members. It would not confirm if four student athletes have been suspended and not allowed to travel to the team's upcoming games vs. George Mason in Virginia.

Allegedly freshman members of the softball team received a written note from upperclassmen outlining that it was deliverance week, that the time has come for them to show respect, that it's time for them to realize their place and if they don't follow instructions there will be dire consequences. The students would then be forced to consume large amounts of alcohol, perform lap dances for upperclassman on the team, mimic sex acts, and perform other inappropriate and graphic acts.

The university released a statement, "Saint Joseph’s University is fully aware of the allegations involving members of the women’s softball team. SJU is taking these allegations very seriously and is well into a comprehensive investigation of the matter. While that investigation is not yet complete, remedial actions have already been taken to assure there is no disruption to the educational environment of any students who may be affected. Due to federal student privacy regulations, there will be no additional comment by the University at this time."

A 14-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man are both in the hospital after being shot in the Brewerytown neighborhood of North Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon. The shooting happened around 4:30 pm near a school playground at 25th and Jefferson Streets. Police arrived to find the two victims. The 14-year-old was shot once in the leg. He is in stable condition at Hahnemann University Hospital. The 19-year-old was shot four times - once in the left arm, once in the left shoulder, and twice in the right thigh. He was also taken to Hahneman but is in critical condition. Police found two weapons at the scene. No arrests have been made. The investigation continues.

New cell phone video showing the arrest of a 32-year-old man who later died in the custody of the Vineland Police Department has been released. The family is interested to see if it shows any use of excessive force on the part of police. Phillip White was arrested on Tuesday morning after police responded to a disorderly conduct call on the 100 block of Grape Street. During the arrest the officer could be heard on the police scanner indicating that White was grabbing for his service weapon. The police K9 was also released to subdue the suspect and may have bit him. Police noticed that White was distressed and a medical transport was called. White was handcuffed and restrained and placed inside. During the transport to the hospital he became unresponsive and medical personnel performed CPR. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. White has a history of drug use, specifically PCP. The final autopsy results are pending toxicology. Prosectors believe there are more videos out there and hope that they will be turned in.
