Lower Makefield Township Police are seeking the public's help in locating a missing person from the Yardley area. 88-year-old Francis McDonald went missing late Sunday night from the 1000 block of River Road in Yardley, near the areas of Slate Hill Development and Maccelsfield Park. McDonald has dementia. He was last seen wearing a striped polo shirt, blue pants, and a tan jacket. He is not from the area and does not have access to any vehicles.

Friends and family are mourning the death of 15 year old St. Joe Prep freshman, Ryan Gillyard who collapsed and died during football practice on Saturday. Gillyard who had no known health issues had played football since he was 6, first in Pop Warner, then for St. Denis School in Havertown. He also played basketball for St. Denis and in the Philadelphia Police Athletic League. In 2011, his St. Denis basketball team won the CYO Region 32 championships.

In preparation for Pope Francis visit to Philadelphia, the Vatican is considering more than a dozen sites in the Philadelphia area as possible stops for the Pope while he’s in the City of Brotherly Love for the World Meeting of Families. The Vatican’s advance team has been here for several months organizing permits, road closures and motorcades. The Pope’s final schedule will be released in the next several weeks.
