Motorists are leaving their cars in the garage today in Philly opting for two wheels to get to work. It's the 20th annual Bike To Work Day in Philadelphia, so don't be surprised if you see more bicyclists than usual on the streets. Also, you can use the city’s new bike share program for just $1.

As federal investigators try to find out why an Amtrak train that crashed in Philadelphia sped up in the last minute before it derailed, Amtrak's top official said the railroad takes full responsibility for the deadly wreck. Joseph Boardman, Amtrak president and CEO, said in a letter on Amtrak's official blog Thursday that it is cooperating fully in an investigation into the accident that killed eight people and injured more than 200 this week.

West Chester University's former chief budgeting officer contends that the school falsely reported deficits to get more state funding, then "squirreled away" millions of dollars in unreported funds to use if it succeeded in withdrawing from the State System of Higher Education. In a federal lawsuit filed Thursday, Colleen Bradley said she was fired for speaking out about the university's "misuse and waste of public funds." Her complaint contends the university violated Pennsylvania's whistle-blower law and seeks damages.
