The Christie Administration has threatened for months to take shore homeowners to court if they did not grant easements for formation of a statewide network of dunes to protect against the next major storm. On Thursday, eminent domain actions were filed against the owners of two homes — one in Ship Bottom, the other in Ocean City. They just won’t budge, according to Larry Hajna with the Department of Environmental Protection, and the state can wait no longer.

Police say a woman was shot in the back in North Philadelphia by what was believed to be a stray bullet in a drug related shooting. It happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday night. Authorities say she realized she was shot at the intersection of 17th and Diamond streets. The bullet that struck the victim traveled through the back seat and front seat of the car. She was taken to Temple University Hospital and is in stable condition.

Philadelphia city officials and police officers held a community walk through West Philadelphia Thursday night. District Attorney Seth Williams lead the group of 19th District police officers, and community groups, knocking on the doors of businesses and home owners. Police introduced themselves to residents and offered help along the way. Members of the DA’s office joined, offering assistance and answering questions about neighborhood concerns.
