A church group from North Jersey has decided to stay at the Philadelphia Zoo the weekend of the Papal Visit. A group of parishioners from a church in Ridgewood, Bergen County will be sleeping on the ground inside buildings that contain insect and bird exhibits. The group of 240 parishioners are able to stay through the Zoo’s overnight program. It costs $65 per person, significantly cheaper than a hotel room in Philadelphia. We’re now 59 days away from the arrival of Pope Francis to Philadelphia.

RV rental companies are finding the upcoming Papal visit is going to be money in the bank. 84 RV Rentals and Service in Sussex, New Jersey normally sends vehicles to New York and north, according to Barry Raye. He says his phones have been ringing with people wanting to rent RVs to head to Philadelphia at the end of September.
So far, he’s rented six RVs to house people in security, bands and food services. He expects families to begin making reservations soon.

The Schuylkill River Trail now officially extends all the way to Phoenixville as the Canal Towpath opens in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County. The 1.8-mile stretch of trail runs along the canal in a section of Upper Providence known as Port Providence. The trail links Montgomery County together with Philadelphia, and it opens up trails that today sees over a million people a year.
