A woman is dead and a child and another woman are injured after a shooting in Wilmington, DE on Monday afternoon. It happened just before 2 p.m. on the 400 block of W. 7th Street. A 25-year-old woman was found with gunshot wounds to her upper torso. She died at the scene. A 4-year-old child was taken to the hospital by officers with a gunshot to the legs. A 51-year-old woman was found a block away with a gun shot to her leg and was also taken to the hospital. There is no word on the condition of those two victims. Police are still investigating the incident. If you have any information you are urged to call Detective Thomas Curely at 302-576-3625.

A young boy digging a hole in the sand on a New Jersey beach was trapped when the sand suddenly collapsed on him. It happened around 1:45 this afternoon on the 17th street beach in Surf City on Long Beach Island. Lifeguards and bystanders pulled the 12-year-old boy out of the sand and performed CPR. He was breathing when authorities responded. The boy was flown to Cooper University Hospital in stable condition.

Three Philadelphia poll workers charged with tampering with voting machines waived their preliminary hearing today in court. Election Judge Sandra Dee is accused of ordering Gregory Thomas and James Collins to register six additional votes on a voting machine after hours at last November's election when it was discovered that the books didn't match the machines. They were working at Hancock Recreation Center polling place in North Philadelphia. They tampered with the machines to add the votes so their books matched. Defense counsel is expected to file requests for the pre-trial intervention program A-R-D (Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition). They will be arraigned next month. Assistant DA Michael Bonner says, “It is tampering with democracy. It’s repeat voting in Philadelphia , and unfortunately, the notion of ‘vote early and vote often’ has to stop.”
