Snuka Murder Charges Filed, Monmouth House Fire Kills Three, Papal Riverlink Ferry Expands Schedule

Former professional wrestling superstar Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka is facing charges in connection with the death of his girlfriend more than 30 years ago. "Charges of third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter have been filed today against former professional wrestler James Snuka in connection with the 1983 death of his 23-year-old girlfriend Nancy L. Argentino of Brooklyn, New York," said Lehigh County District Attorney James Martin. The now 72-year-old was arrested Tuesday for the 1983 death of his girlfriend Nancy Argentino. Argentino’s death remained a cold case until last year when the Lehigh County District Attorney reopened the case. Authorities say Argentino sustained serious injuries to her head while staying with Snuka inside a Whitehall Township motel. She later died at the hospital. The then 39-year-old was wrestling at an event at the Allentown fairgrounds. Snuka, who is battling stomach cancer, is out on bail.

A two alarm fire ripped through a home in Monmouth County, New Jersey overnight, resulting in three deaths. Officials say firefighters got the call just before midnight Tuesday to the home on the 200 block of Joline Avenue in Long Branch. Three people were killed in the blaze and a fourth person is in critical condition. All of them were inside the home before crews arrived. The fire has been placed under control. Prosecutors and detectives are still investigating a cause.

If you want to come into Philadelphia from New Jersey while the Pope is in town, you don’t have to walk across the Ben Franklin Bridge. The RiverLink Ferry will not only be running, it’s adding extra service. The ferry will be operating from 7:30 a.m. until midnight on the Saturday and Sunday of the papal visit, and its adding extra trips on that Friday and Monday as well. You’ll have to buy tickets online, in advance, for specific travel times. The cost is a flat $7 each way.
