Two people were killed in Center City early this morning after being struck by a taxi. The victims, a 24-year-old woman and a 25-year old man, were hit by a northbound cab about 5:15 a.m. as they crossed Broad Street one block north of City Hall at Arch Street. The woman died at the scene. The man was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he died of his injuries. Police are withholding the identities of the victims until their families have been notified. The cab driver was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains.

Made In America wrapped up on the Parkway yesterday. It was the 4th year for the event and the biggest yet. The Rocky stage leaned more hip-hop and R&B than in prior years and the crowds stayed through the finish. The rain held off and the dust from Eakins Oval could not gag the spirits of the music fans who enjoyed the 2 day festival.

About 150,000 people will get a closer look during Pope Francis visit to Philadelphia. But you will need a free ticket. Catholic Parishes, Catholic social service workers, religious Sisters and Brothers as well as those attending the Congress of the World Meeting of Families have been allotted free tickets. Another 25,000 tickets will become available online to the general public on Tuesday and Wednesday.
