Bridge Toll Hikes Today, Villanova Football Vehicles Vandalized, Manayunk Porch Package Theft

It will cost more to cross two bridges in the area starting Tuesday. The toll on the Burlington-Bristol and Tacony-Palmyra bridges rises to $4 for cash customers. The toll will be $3 dollars for EZ Pass customers. The toll hikes are the first in 15 years. The Burlington County Bridge Commission says the increases are needed for improvements. The new toll goes into effect Tuesday at 10 p.m.

When Villanova University’s football team returned from its season opener at the University of Connecticut, players and staff discovered, while they were away, vandals had taken the “offensive” against them, back at their home stadium on the Main Line. Radnor Police say 15 vehicles had their windows broken out or shattered after they were left, police say, by players and staff at Villanova Stadium on Lancaster Avenue as the team headed north. So far, police have no description of the vandals who struck overnight on September 2 into the early morning hours of September 3 in the lot adjoining the east end of the stadium. Police say it appears the vandals deliberately singled out the team’s vehicles, not damaging any others in nearby university lots or neighborhoods. But for now the motive remains a mystery.

Philadelphia Police are looking for a man who allegedly stole a package from the front porch of a residence in Manyunk on Thursday, September 10th. Two high definition surveillance cameras captured the alleged theft. Brian Taylor lives in the home and says two designer dresses that his wife rented were in the alleged stolen box. In the video, the man looks behind him to make sure the coast is clear, before allegedly taking the smaller of the two boxes.
