The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is trying something new in selling high-demand, limited-release wines and spirits: a lottery. The LCB is selling 24 bottles of Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection through a lottery process. Each bottle is $48.49, and lottery winners can only buy one. A fourth of the bottles will be sold to LCB licensees, the rest to individuals. Pennsylvania residents may opt in to the lottery through 11pm Saturday by going to the LCB’s website, FineWineandGoodSpirits.com.

Embattled Attorney General Kathleen Kane is now facing a lawsuit filed by a former top lawyer in her office. James Barker says he testified truthfully before a grand jury investigating allegations against Kane. The complaint says Barker’s testimony contradicted Kane’s defense, and that within days of news reports that revealed his testimony, Kane retaliated by terminating Barker, offering “false explanations” for his firing that “call into question his good name.”

A Los Angeles-based rock group, Gooding, is touring area schools this week, teaching students about financial literacy. The first stop was Monday at Montgomery County Community College. Financial discipline is the theme and that instant fame and fortune rarely happens. The local tour is sponsored by Jenkintown Financial Planner Danielle Page.
