A judge has signed an order directing former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky be brought to court for an appeal hearing in Centre County. Sandusky is serving 30 to 60 years in a state prison in Greene County for his 2012 conviction on more than 40 child-sex abuse charges. He's appealing claiming his trial attorney was ineffective.

Philadelphia’s mayoral candidates faced off in their third debate last night before about 200 people at Temple University. Democrat Jim Kenney and Republican Melissa Murray Bailey traded jabs focused on the other party’s presidential candidates. Kenney talked of expanding the Port of Philadelphia. Bailey wants to change the city’s personal and business tax structure.

Today marks the one year anniversary that marijuana has been decriminalized in Philadelphia. Since decriminalization took effect, police have cited 73 percent fewer people than they arrested for possessing weed during the same time period in the year prior to decriminalization. Until last year, Philadelphia had been the only municipality in the state still physically arresting people for possessing a small amount of weed.
