The Yellow Ribbon program is designed to help veterans continue their education. It covers most, if not all, college expenses and can help veterans transition from the military to civilian life. 27-year-old Ian Williams is an Army Veteran, who left the army in June 2013 and was enrolled at Drexel through the Yellow Ribbon program that fall. Williams will graduate in June with a degree in health sciences.

The special Senate committee empaneled to study whether Attorney General Kathleen Kane can continue in office is scheduled to hold a public hearing Monday afternoon. The bi-partisan Senate committee was formed after Kane's law license was suspended and is tasked with examining how that suspension affects her ability to function as attorney general. The Senate committee is to report its findings later this month.

The Streets Department launches its Philly Leaf and Recycling Program today. Conservation-minded Philadelphians can drop off leaves in biodegradable bags at 23 locations, Saturdays from 9-3 through late December, as well as at the five Sanitation Convenience Centers. They'll also be doing mechanical leaf collection. Deputy Streets Commissioner Donald Carlton says they'll be put to good use.
