No Streaming for Adele's '25'; SEPTA Officer has Cardiac Arrest after Arrest; New CC Holiday Market

Adele's first new album, 25, is due out worldwide on Friday and it is one of the most highly anticipated releases in years. Adding to the excitement is the fact that the British songstress has not put out an album since 2011's massive hit, 21. On the eve of the release, however, it is being reported that the album will not be available for on demand streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. If you want to hear it, you'll have to buy the album, either as a digital download or actually go to the record store. Some estimates say it could sell as many as 2.5 million copies in the first week. In the past, Taylor Swift has pulled music from Spotify and Beyonce's 2013 surprise album was iTunes only. This does not mean that 25 won't join 21 and Adele's first album, 19, on streaming services at some point in the future.

A Philadelphia transit officer suffered a heart attack and went into cardiac arrest after making an arrest this morning. The 47-year-old SEPTA sergeant was on patrol at 16th and JFK in Center City when he spotted a suspect smashing a window. They got into a struggle as the officer tried to get the man into handcuffs. After the suspect was arrested, the officer collapsed. Nearby officers rushed him to Hahnemann University Hospital where he received treatment and is in stable condition. The suspect faces charges including aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

A new outdoor holiday market will open this weekend in Center City and run through December 27th. The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market at Dilworth Park was created by the organizers of the Christmas Village in LOVE Park. While the Christmas Village has European-style crafts and food, this new market will have a distinctly Philadelphia feel. Around two-dozen vendors will be set up near the Rothman Ice Rink with local arts, crafts, and food. For more information visit centercityphila.org

Showers continue, temperatures steady around 62 this evening in Center City
